In todays lesson I had to research hand techniques, mechanical techniques and finally digital techniques. I didn't finish the research in class so I either need to finish it in class on Thursday or at home in my own time.

In today's lesson we were to present the infographics to the class. We had to save it as a JPEG so it can then be presented on the big screen to every. We went through everyones,one-by-one and listening to their reasons of why they wanted to used the images, text, colour ect for their infographics. I learnt a lot about each individual research type and i thought they all have a lot of information and made them reall eye catching too.

After this task I feel that I know how to do my own infographic and will be able to create one further into the units.

In today's lesson we had two lessons to finish the infographic. We got back into our group and continued with our infographic.

Daniel came up with a strapline to put onto the top of the infographic. He then added a line underneath to seperate the text so it didn't get confusing.  He then did the part of 'Audience Data'. He wrote a little bit about the Audience data and then was able to add some pictures to represent that subject. He used a House to represent 'Household Date' and also 'Demographics'. He then used a pie chart to represent the 'Demographics' too.

I then did the next part about 'Audience Profiling'. I was able to mention how this includes the audiences age/gender, income, location ect. I then added images to represent everything. I added the cards to show the income and also of peoples spending patterns and what spare money they have. I then used a picture of a house to show peoples location and where they live. Then I used an image of a old lady and a young man to show the different age/genders.

Josh then did the consumer behaviour and wrote about things such as Personality, Blends elements and also understanding the buyers desisions. He had a lot of information on this for each of the subjects. He used an image of an angry baby to show to it will show peoples emotions. He then used an image of someone having an idea and this shows that people have a point of view. He then used an image of the facebook logo to then show that people are socializing to get their points across to a target audience.Finally he used an image of a group to show how people can make desisions in either a group or as an individual.

Jordan then did the part of Geo-Demographics. This was going to show peoples eatting patterns, outdoor activitites, ect. He used a photo of a red cross to show the heathcare and then showed a photo of KFC to show peoples eatting patterns.

To finish the whole thing off we used the Looney Tunes 'Thats all Folks' and an image of a Looney Tunes character with the actual text use by them too. We then added our names to show who had created the infographic. We thought it was a good way to end the whole infographic.

In today's lesson we again got into the groups we were put into last week. I was with Daniel, Josh and Jordan doing the Audience Research. As a group we have a make something graphical via photoshop to present to the group. This is called an Infographic.

Daniel started of the top of the infographic to show what it was going to be about. He create a screen to show 'Audience Research' being projected on a screen. He then used the circle tool to show an audience watching the presentation.

We still need to complete this and will continue with this in Thursdays lesson.

In lesson today Jo put us into group to research either 'Audience Research', 'Market Research' or 'Production Research'. I was put into a group with Daniel, Josh and Jordan and we have to research 'Audience Research'. We had to research ...

We split ourselves into two's. Myself and Daniel were one group researching certain parts and then Josh and Jordan looked at the others. After we finished Jo told us we have to look for images which was going to help us present it in next weeks lessons. We all have to finish gathering the images for each individual part and we are also finding out how we are going to present it.

The other groups were Mike, Amy, Myer, Darryl and Corey and they were doing the Market Research. Then in the other group were TinTin, Matt, Chris, Mollie and Owen, they were doing the Production Research.

In today's lesson I have finished my work on research techniques. I finished the Quantitative and Qualitative research by adding more information into it as today I was able to consentrate more on it than i could yesterday at home.

After I finished that report I then had to move onto the worksheet I did last week and write on each sheet to say if it was a Primary or Secondary source. After I finished that piece of work I then had another sheet to do called 'Qualitative and Quantitative Worksheet.doc. that I got off Moodle. On this sheet I had to write whether each statement was Qualitative or Quantitative.

After I finished them I then did some research for tomorrow's lesson. I had to research Market Research, Audience Research and then Production Research.

Today I continued with the work we did on the 17th. I found it a little bit difficult when trying to research what Qualitative and Quantitative meant. I asked a member of the group for a little bit of help as I was at home doing the work so i couldn't ask my tutor. I think this whole small task has been difficult to understand so far. It would have made it easier if i was able to look back on past work from my course last year but i couldn't find the work to compare to. I have tried to do what i can on this work today but will ask my tutor for help tomorrow to see what i can add to the work.

In today's lesson I had to research..
  • Primary sources
  • Secondary sources
  • Qualitative
  • Quantitative
For each of them I had to write a paragraph on what it actual means. I have to list a number of examples for each of them. An example of this would be Primary sources would be photographs and interviews. An example for Secondary sources would be Biographies and published books. I also had to list the number of advantages each of them had and a list of disadvantages they all had. After finishing Primary and Secondary sources I had to research Qualitative and Quantitative. I only just started researching Qualitative, so as i didn't finish i need to finish it at home due in for Thursday's lesson (19.01.2012), and Jo has also told us we may get some extra time at the beginning of the lesson too.

In today's lesson we have printed of a sheet and had to research a number of things but in different ways. The ways i found out about them was by internet. I typed in the keywords and found the answers out that way. Then I also used a dictionary to find a number of words and their meanings. I also had to find a number of books out in the library too. For a couple of the questions i knew because of my own knowledge. I also found out via my peers too.

The unit's I will be learning about are unit 18, 3 and 4.
 
Unit 18 - In unit 18 I know that i must be able to understand print-based media production techniques and technology. I must also be able to develop all my ideas and originate designs for print-based media productions. During the unit I should also be able to produce a print-based media product. Finally, to reflect upon my own print-based media production work.

Unit 3 - In unit 3 i need to be able to understand the nature and the purposes of research in the creative media industries. I also need to be able to apply a range of research methods and also techniques. I also need to be able to present results of research.
 
Unit 4 - In unit 4 i need to be able to originate, also develop and research an idea for a media product. I also need to be able to pitch a proposal for a media product. I must finally be able to manage a production process to create a media product.
