Packaging and Poster colours

This photo above is for my packages. When doing the questionnaire people prefered purple and I wanted all my colours to be a pastel typed colour. I feel that this purple is good enough for the two packages which I am making. I am also going to be using a second purple colour for another packaging. The colour below is the second colour I am going to be using. It is more of a darker pastel purple but I think they would both be perfect for the packages.

For this photo is it going to be my poster colour. I like this colour because it is a little lighter than the other colour for the packages and it doesn't clash with the packaging colours and it is a lot different. I think it works well for the company and it does look girly and the way I wanted it to look. 



Finished Logo Design

This is my finished logo that I made in Photoshop CS5.
To get the font I used the website, ' http://www.dafont.com/search.php?q=honey+script '. The font is called Honey Script and when looking at my questionnaire peope did like this font. I wanted to use this font because it has the look I was wanting which is curvy and like it is flowing. To get the two flowers I used the website, ' http://www.brusheezy.com/ '. When i drew one of my logo's i imagened the letter N and the the flower flowing into on another but when I actually began to making the logo I found that i prefered it underneath the letters. The second flower on the left is also from the same website and I had a bit of trouble with this because it didn't look right with any colour. After speaking with my Tutor I then lined the left flower up with the top of the letters and the sides too and i thought it fitted better. I did origionally plan to use a leaf but when i saw that flower I liked it better because it did still have leaves. I chose the colours green because my company is about natural beauty and green is usually the colour which shows natural products so I thought green fitted in well all together. I think my logo is good because even though there isn't much happening, it is unique and it tells the target audience what it is by just looking at it.

In today's lesson i have printed out my two packages and started to print them out to see what they will look like once put together. i will then need to start designing onto my photoshop templates on the packages. next lesson i need to choose my colour or my poster.

On thursday 26th gathered up all my results and make pie charts of the results. on Friday I finished gathering it together.
Wednesday 2nd I started my production. I have now completed my logo and I am currently designing my poster to promote the company and packagings.

Group Discussion - Pitch

I feel that the pitch went well. At first I felt a little bit uncomfortable and nervious but as soon as I got infront of small group I felt fine. There was a small pause before I did my pitch because people were marking the previous persons questionnaires and during the pause I was getting use to standing at the front so by the time everyone was ready I was comfortable and felt fine. I felt that the pitch went good, I was happy with how I presented it and that I said all I wanted to say. When it came to people asking questions at the end I did feel a little on the spot and my nerves did appear back but once I was sure on what I was saying I felt fine again. While watching the other two people which were before me I knew that I didn't want to rush it and also the two before me looked relaxed and knew what they were saying so I knew I needed to relax myself before going up, which I felt I did overcome. Overall I feel that in the focus groups I felt a lot more comfortable and relax. I definatly prefer working in focus groups, however I hope to take these skills I have gained to any other presentation I have in the future whether it being in class or out of class.

I have recently completed my presentation for my pitch about my company, and I have got my napkin sketches, notes and other packages ready to pitch on Wednesday 25.04.2012 at 11am to my focus group.

I have also completed my contingency plan, which is like a plan B if anything happens to go wrong on the day of the pitch and what I would do if this did actually happen.

I've also done an action plan for what I am going to do when it comes to actually making and designing my three products. I have added what day I want to achieve these by and what resources I need, I need to find out about printing costs too.

Not blogged in a while, but we have been looking at different advertising types, branding, logo's and how companies manage to sell their products etc. We have watched a could of programs showing how they advertise and how much money they make just by people buying their products. Brand Loyalty, Brand association and Brand Recognition are three new words I now know due to this project. I am now thinking of three of my companies and then choosing one of them as my actual company and i need to plan a lot of things out on paper about this because i can plan anything else. As a group we also played the logo board game this was so we could see how well we known different logos. The group also did some handouts of logos with parts blank and we had to guess what they were.

I am now 100% on my company name, 3 products for that company and also my logo. Now I am in the half term holidays and I have been given homework to do a pitch of my company to present it to 3 other students. I have to also been asked to complete a questionnaire to give to the students to complete after I have presented my pitch. I also need to do my napkin sketches of some logo's too.
