Not blogged in a while, but we have been looking at different advertising types, branding, logo's and how companies manage to sell their products etc. We have watched a could of programs showing how they advertise and how much money they make just by people buying their products. Brand Loyalty, Brand association and Brand Recognition are three new words I now know due to this project. I am now thinking of three of my companies and then choosing one of them as my actual company and i need to plan a lot of things out on paper about this because i can plan anything else. As a group we also played the logo board game this was so we could see how well we known different logos. The group also did some handouts of logos with parts blank and we had to guess what they were.

I am now 100% on my company name, 3 products for that company and also my logo. Now I am in the half term holidays and I have been given homework to do a pitch of my company to present it to 3 other students. I have to also been asked to complete a questionnaire to give to the students to complete after I have presented my pitch. I also need to do my napkin sketches of some logo's too.

i was able to finish cutting out my design on asetate and paint over it to get a final design.

6th - 10th February

Monday - 6th February (1hour 45mins lesson)

    During Monday's lesson I was able to complete my infographic. It took me a while to make everything look neat and not all squashed together but once it looks complete i felt it looked really good. During this task I feel I have got new skills with using Photoshop and I feel if we have to do an infographic again I will have a lot more skills to use and to be able to make it looks really good and creative. 

Thursday - 9th February (1.30-5.15)

    During Thursday's lesson Jo told us we were going to do our own printing techniques. So we got with our groups we did a group infographic with (Myself, Daniel, Josh and Jordan). We first had to go out of take photo's of different embossing and show Jo once completing this task. 

    We then could move onto the next task which was getting a piece of paper and rubbing crayons onto the paper then using a pair of scissors to carve something into the paper. I wrote my name into it, i thought it was a good way to show we understood different printing techniques because we actually created it.

    After we could then move onto a design to put onto a t-shirt and print it onto Magic touch paper. Also onto asetate for my converse symbol design which i can cut out using a craft knife and then i can paint onto material for the finished design. 

Friday - 10th February (10.15-12)

     Today I just continued with my t-shirt design and then i can get it printed out onto Magic touch paper and then once the repographics were available we could get our work printed out onto asetate and carve it out (converse symbol) using a craft knife.

- I should hopefully be completing this after the half term holidays.

In today's lesson, I added more to my infographic. In the infographic I had to talk about things such as Hand Techniques, Mechanical Techniques and finally Digital Techniques. . Hand Techniques includes things such as etching, Ingalio, linocut, screen printing, wood cut, lithography. For mechanical techniques there is letterpress, gravure and screen press. Then i digital techniques there is photocopying, laser pritning, inkjet printing, desktop publishing and digital screen printing.

I was able to finish this Hand techniques in todays lesson and a little bit of the mechanical techniques. I need to complete the infograhic in Monday's lesson and post it into moodle by the end of the lesson as that is the deadline for the infographic.

In today's first half of the lesson I finished researching different printing types. I found some of the research a little difficult but also some easy to research. In the second half I was able to start my own infographic. So far I like it, I like how it and finding photoshop easier than I use to ...

In todays lesson I had to research hand techniques, mechanical techniques and finally digital techniques. I didn't finish the research in class so I either need to finish it in class on Thursday or at home in my own time.

In today's lesson we were to present the infographics to the class. We had to save it as a JPEG so it can then be presented on the big screen to every. We went through everyones,one-by-one and listening to their reasons of why they wanted to used the images, text, colour ect for their infographics. I learnt a lot about each individual research type and i thought they all have a lot of information and made them reall eye catching too.

After this task I feel that I know how to do my own infographic and will be able to create one further into the units.
